Fake Minorities, out of town people
There was a petition drive at the Inverness library and this is something I read that bothered me!"Congressional districts may not be drawn to favor or disfavor an incumbent or political party. Districts shall not be drawn to deny racial or language minorities the equal opportunity to participate in the political process and elect representatives of their choice. Districts must be contiguous. Unless otherwise required, districts must be compact, as equal in population as feasible, and where feasible, must make use of existing city, county and geographical boundaries"That to my knowledge is a double negative! That would mean that you could change it in favor of race or language minorities!Next what is language minorities, I asked the person at the library in Inverness and his example was someone who spoke Spanish. Look this is a made up minority because you can learn English. A minority is a person who can not change his or her status; an Asian person will remain Asian regardless. But you have a choice if you want to learn the English language.This is going on right here in Citrus County and people are being tricked because it sounds good. I think the districts should be drawn by number of people only and should not be endlessly redrawn.Next, what group is it that is doing this because we are having our laws changed buy people who don’t live here? I asked where this person lived and he said California! Why not stay in California and let us change our own laws.People coming to our community, making up minority groups, and unfortunately conservatives that didn’t read the whole thing (wife and brother signed it).
